While we haven't posted an update in a while, things have been rolling over here at Sandman headquarters. Let me give you a quick rundown of what we have been up to.
We have 3D printed a couple versions and nailed down our design. While we were doing our Kickstarter campaign, some of the specifics hadn't been nailed down totally. The Sandman now has a fully fleshed out design with buttons fully integrated. Thanks to your feedback we have added some new features and improved the product significantly.
Check out the Sandman in 3D here! (works best in chrome)
Auto dimming: The Sandman has a light sensor and will automatically dim when the room gets dark and brighten when the room lights up. You can set how dim or bright you'd like the display of the Sandman to be in both day and night modes.
Battery backup: The Sandman now has an integrated battery backup and will remember what time it is if unplugged. It will also remember what time you set your alarm. The display and USB ports won't be powered while running in battery backup mode. The battery won't last very long, it's only for emergencies.
The Sandman is much thinner as well.
Buttons for snooze and alarm have been finalized and we are super happy how with how it looks. There are 4 buttons on the Sandman that control snooze, brightness, alarm, 24/AMPM time switch and regular time setting.
We got our circuit boards in today and we will be populating them with components in the next couple days. Firmware is being written and we should have a fully functional Sandman by this time next week!
Thanks everyone! More news coming really soon!
